Tasks and task recurrences can be created utilizing Project Key Dates rather than a date selected in the Due Date calendar field.

Creating a Task with Key Project Dates:
- Add A new Task
- Select the portfolio + project
- Select Desired Project Key date to be used for the end date
- Select Recurrences
- Select Key Project Dates
- Select desired start & End dates from the list of project key dates
Example: Using a Custom Key Date in a Recurring Task
- User wants to create a recurring task for Insurance Renewal. User has already set up a Custom Key Date called “Insurance Renewal.”
- User navigates to add a Recurring Task.
- The recurring task start date selection includes the Custom Key Date so the user can select “Insurance Renewal” as the starting date.
- The user completes setting up the recurring task.
- The system uses the Insurance Renewal date to drive the recurring tasks. Any updates to the Insurance Renewal date are automatically propagated through the system as if it were a standard date.
Example: Create multiple tasks using a Custom Key Date
- User wants to create a set of tasks that use a Custom Key Date. User has already set up two Custom Key Dates: “Insurance Renewal” and “Annual Owner Walkthrough”.
- User navigates to export a Task Template.
- Task Template includes a column for “Insurance Renewal” and “Annual Owner Walkthrough”
- User updates the task template in Excel, including Custom Key Dates.
- User imports the updated task template.
- System reflects updates to Custom Key Dates and propagates any necessary changes through the system.
Assign a Key Date by Name to a Task
Key Dates can be assigned to a task without a date entered or blank. The task will function as configured when date is entered for the Key Date.
